Identical floor plans can still need different smart-home orders

Use a standard plan as a starting point, then check actual doors, lighting loads and selected finishes before repeating the order. Two homes with the same room layout can differ in the hardware that determines a successful installation.

Check the options sheet

Review lighting fixture substitutions, upgraded door hardware and shade choices against each home’s selections. These variations may affect dimmer choice, lock fit or motor requirements even when the electrical drawing initially looks unchanged.

Keep approved branches documented

Define a small set of reviewed alternatives rather than allowing ad hoc substitutions during installation. Record exact models and required accessories so a product shortage does not quietly turn the approved package into an untested mixture.

Buy after the variation check

Ask for the common core and per-home variations as separate quote lines. This preserves the benefit of a standard package while making the reasons for additional devices or installation work visible to the purchasing team.
