A kitchen smart plug needs an appliance list first
Use a plug-control proposal for an appliance whose operation and rated load suit that arrangement. Do not build a kitchen scene that casually cuts power to every outlet; the useful starting point is a carefully chosen, noncritical load.

Read the appliance instructions
Check whether the appliance is intended to resume after power restoration and whether unattended operation is allowed. A device that heats, pumps or needs a specific shutdown sequence may need a different approach from simple standby control.
Keep exclusions visible
Put refrigerators, essential equipment and any unsuitable loads outside the proposed plug scene. Ask for the plug’s regional electrical rating and the actual appliance load together rather than treating the outlet shape as proof of suitability.
Quote a narrow use case
Send the appliance label and the intended switching behavior. A quote for one appropriate load is easier to judge than an attractive multi-pack whose extra plugs would encourage unsuitable uses around the kitchen.
Before you buy
- Record appliance wattage
- Confirm restart behavior
- Exclude essential loads
