Dinner lighting: three useful settings are usually enough
A dining room often needs a practical bright setting, a softer meal setting and a simple off action. Start there before paying for a complicated scene collection that guests cannot distinguish or call without a phone.

Separate mood from visibility
Try the meal setting with actual plates, faces and a serving dish on the table. Very low lighting can look appealing in an empty room and still be inconvenient once people sit down to eat or pass food.
Choose an obvious control
Place a compatible scene button near the dining route. A clearly labeled physical choice lets a host change the room while carrying dishes, without sharing account access or searching through unrelated whole-home scenes.
Ask for agreed presets
Request a dimmer and control proposal for the actual dining circuit. Keep an adjustment range available, because the chosen level may need a small change when lamps, shades or table layouts are replaced.
