Decide account ownership before installing the controller
Account ownership is part of the installation design, not an afterthought at handover. Agree who administers the home, which temporary access the installer needs and how that access ends when the work is accepted.

Separate setup from ownership
Use the platform’s supported sharing and ownership procedures. Do not base a customer’s home on a shared showroom login simply because setup is faster. A demo account and a resident’s daily system serve different purposes and need different handling.
Demonstrate the handover
Have the customer perform an agreed normal action using their own authorized access. Review how support will be requested later. Keep recovery information secure and explain custody without collecting unnecessary personal credentials in a sales form.
Discuss support boundaries early
Local integrators can ask HomeTech about technical backup while retaining a clear customer-ownership plan. Describe the platform and project role so the support discussion addresses a legitimate access arrangement rather than an indefinite installer-controlled account.
Before you buy
- Name the system owner
- Limit temporary installer access
