Home-office light for calls, reading and the end of the day
An office corner benefits from a few task-based light settings, not a complicated automation network. Choose a clear work light and an easy adjustment for calls, then keep the end-of-day action separate from equipment that must remain powered.

Use the actual desk position
Test from the seated eye level and camera angle, with the monitor and window in their normal positions. A fixture that fills the room may still create a reflection across the screen or put the face in shadow.
Keep devices independently usable
A light scene can change the agreed lamp group without shutting down the workstation, network or other essential loads. Define those exclusions before linking a smart plug or broad all-off command to a desk button.
Quote a desk-first plan
Send desk dimensions and a photo of the window. Ask for a lamp or compatible dimmer plus accessible physical control, and leave wider room integration until the practical desk setup works as intended.
