Choosing an Aqara Hub: Start with the Devices You Want to Add
Choose a hub from a device list, not from its appearance. A mixed system needs a different discussion from a few compatible sensors in one apartment.
List both sides of the bridge
Name the sensors and controls joining the hub, then the household app you want to use. Those are separate compatibility questions; a bridge label alone does not answer both.
Know which role is needed
Matter controller, Thread border router and a brand’s device bridge are different functions. Ask which proposed component performs each required role before assuming the newest hub removes every other box.
Make expansion concrete
Include the next likely room and its devices in the selection conversation. Buying adequate supported capacity now can be sensible, without paying for functions that have no planned use.
