Wireless whole-home plans still need a power plan
Wireless communication does not mean every device is battery powered. Before choosing a retrofit package, map the outlets, drivers and charging points it requires so attractive room scenes do not arrive with cords or maintenance access that were never discussed.

Mark each power source
List which devices need continuous supply, which use replaceable batteries and which need charging. Keep the proposed location next to that requirement; a controller placed for good coverage also needs a practical, stable power arrangement.
Protect ordinary operation
Check whether a wall switch can cut power to connected lights or controllers. Labeling and physical controls should support the household’s habits instead of relying on everyone to remember an invisible technical rule after installation.
Request an honest room diagram
Ask HomeTech to show power and communication separately on a room plan. This makes wireless and wired options comparable and reveals when a small amount of planned installation would be cleaner than several exposed adapters.
Before you buy
- List continuous-power devices
- Mark battery service access
- Separate power and radio diagrams
