Device planning list
Use one checked lock per eligible residential door. Count each independently controlled circuit or lamp group. Use one accessible sensor per independently exposed water-risk point. Size controllers by supported capacity and tested coverage.
Before You Buy
Use only an eligible residential opening after mechanical fit and egress checks. Commercial, shared and fire-rated access need separate approval; retain the mechanical fallback. A qualified local electrician checks regional model, voltage, box fill, neutral/multiway wiring and exact lamp-load compatibility. Required safety lighting remains independent. A leak alert is not automatic shutoff or authorization to enter. Verify placement, hub coverage, battery access and response ownership; remote notifications need working connectivity. Match exact regional device, firmware and controller support. A shared Matter, Thread or Zigbee label does not establish every requested cross-brand feature or offline behavior.
