Temperature Sensor with a Display or a Hidden Sensor?
Choose a display when someone benefits from seeing the room reading without opening an app. A discreet sensor is useful when its main job is feeding a supported automation or monitoring routine.

Decide who reads it
A family member checking comfort and an automation rule consuming data have different needs. Identify the person or action first, then choose whether visible hardware belongs on the wall or a shelf.
Do not let looks choose placement
A display can be readable yet sit in direct sun or near a supply vent. Find a representative location for the measurement before deciding how neatly the device matches the interior.
Check the control connection
If the reading should influence heating or cooling, verify the exact sensor-and-controller combination. A temperature number visible in one app does not automatically become an input to every thermostat already installed.
