Buying Ten Sensors? Make Battery Access Part of the Order

A small wireless sensor is easy to overlook once installed. For a larger order, choose mounting and maintenance arrangements that let the household check each device without dismantling the room.

Record where each one lives

Give every sensor an understandable room-and-point name before installation. This makes a low-battery message or fault easier to act on than a list of identical default device names in an app.

Mount for replacement

Check how the battery cover opens and whether mounting adhesive or surrounding trim interferes. The best-looking hidden point is not the best choice if the device cannot be serviced after handover.

Keep the support list

Include battery types, access notes and the relevant controller in the handover schedule. The extra documentation is modest compared with repeatedly searching for a concealed sensor when maintenance eventually becomes necessary.
