Tenant turnover: buying a new hub may not fix old permissions
Before replacing working smart devices at turnover, review ownership, old credentials and the handover process. A new device purchase does not automatically revoke access to the old accounts or create a clean operating arrangement for the incoming resident.

Inventory before ordering
Record the devices that stay with the property and those that belong to the departing tenant. Keep exact models and administrator information in the private file so an unnecessary replacement order does not hide an unresolved ownership question.
Test the old-access removal
Follow each selected system’s documented reset or transfer process and verify the result. A successful new pairing does not by itself prove that every prior guest, staff or tenant permission has been removed.
Request the work, then hardware
Ask for a turnover audit and a replacement list only where needed. This makes the purchase focus on broken, unsuitable or unsupported components while preserving useful hardware with a properly completed handover.
Before you buy
- Separate tenant-owned devices
