New build: buy a wiring plan before a pile of smart devices
Before walls close, a point plan can be more valuable than early device purchases. Decide network locations, control groups and service access first, then choose equipment that fits those documented requirements instead of rebuilding the plan around sale bundles.

Mark daily functions
Show arrival routes, reading positions, television equipment and shade locations on the floor plan. Distinguish power, low-voltage and wireless needs so a wireless product does not accidentally become a reason to omit useful physical infrastructure.
Reserve accessible connections
Plan controller, network and driver positions where they can be reached later. Coordinate the relevant electrical and low-voltage work with the installers; the point drawing should explain access rather than hide all equipment for a cleaner rendering.
Request a phased bill
Ask HomeTech for first-fix infrastructure and later device selection as separate lines. This lets the project secure hard-to-change decisions now while leaving decorative devices and optional scenes open until room use becomes clearer.
Before you buy
- Mark network points
- Reserve driver access
- Separate first fix from devices
