Motion-Sensing Wall Switch or a Separate Sensor?

An integrated sensor is tidy when the wall position can see the right activity. A separate sensor offers more placement freedom when the switch location is a poor viewpoint.

Stand where the switch is

Look from the planned sensor position toward the doorway and occupied area. A convenient place for a hand-operated switch may be behind furniture or outside the best detection angle.

Decide what should trigger

A brief pass through a corridor is different from sitting quietly at a desk. Choose the sensing approach around the actual activity instead of assuming all occupancy-related products react the same way.

Keep manual control familiar

Specify the delay, nighttime behavior and physical override you want. Compare an integrated wall unit with a supported sensor-and-switch combination, including the hub and setup needed to make that combination work.
