Your front door decides which smart lock belongs on the shortlist
Before comparing fingerprints or app features, photograph and measure the door that will receive the lock. A good-looking lock is not a useful purchase if its mechanism, trim or installation requirements do not suit the actual entrance.

Measure the complete opening
Record the existing lock type, door thickness, handing and clearances around the inside handle. Show any storm door or nearby trim, because a close fit on the outside does not prove the interior unit has room to operate.
Keep the backup method visible
Discuss ordinary household entry and the mechanical fallback before choosing the electronic functions. A smart lock should fit the resident’s everyday behavior, including what happens when a phone is unavailable or a battery needs attention.
Ask for a fit-based proposal
Send the door photos with the city and country to HomeTech. Request a suitable regional-model shortlist and required installation work rather than buying a particular lock first and discovering the door needs unplanned modification.
Before you buy
