A smart entry should include a battery routine
A door-lock proposal is more complete when it explains low-battery handling and the chosen backup method. Include those everyday maintenance questions before ordering multiple locks, rather than treating battery care as something to discover at the first inconvenient moment.

Ask about the exact model
Check the manufacturer’s approved battery type, replacement method and available low-battery indications. Different locks can handle these differently, so a general smart-lock maintenance claim is not a substitute for the selected product’s instructions.
Keep backup usable
Agree where authorized people can access the mechanical or other supported fallback. Do not store the only practical backup behind the very door it must open, and avoid sharing administrative credentials as a substitute for a backup plan.
Include handover materials
Request the lock, installation and a short maintenance sheet together. For several homes, keep door labels and records separate so the right battery note and credential information stay associated with the correct property.
