A night route that starts before the bright bathroom light

A gentle path light can make a bedroom-to-bathroom route easier to use without switching on full room lighting. Choose the path, sensor position and manual backup together; the useful purchase is the route, not a sensor by itself.

A gentle route out of the bedroom

Light the actual route

Walk from the bed at normal night-time speed and mark turns, thresholds and the first reachable switch. Keep the chosen lamps outside inappropriate wet areas and select installation-rated equipment for their exact positions.

Avoid full-bright surprises

Choose a low-light scene and test it from the pillow as well as while walking. A motion-sensor plan should account for the return trip and reasonable time to pause; the room should not go dark mid-route.

Ask for a route drawing

Send a simple floor plan with the bed and bathroom door. Request sensor coverage and lamp positions before comparing device counts, and retain an accessible manual switch if the automated scene is not wanted that night.

Before you buy

  • Walk the return route
  • Test brightness from bed
  • Retain a reachable switch
