Bedroom office: buy light for the desk, not the whole room
For a desk inside a bedroom, choose an independent work-light group before linking it to the sleep scene. This keeps video calls and focused work usable without changing the other side of the room or another person’s evening routine.
Check camera and eye positions
Sit where you actually work and check the screen reflection as well as the camera image. Light that looks attractive across the room can create glare on a monitor or uneven illumination on a call.
Separate work from rest
Keep the desk lamp on an independent control path. If a bedroom goodnight button is added, make its treatment of the desk explicit; the room may need a guest or late-work exception rather than one universal off command.
Choose a compact upgrade
Request a task-light proposal using the existing furniture dimensions. A useful first purchase can be one controllable lamp and a reachable button; decorative wall lighting can wait until the practical desk position has been settled.
