Smart curtain motor or new blackout curtain: what comes first?
If light enters around the fabric or edges when the curtain is closed by hand, a motor alone will not solve the problem. Improve the covering and its fit first, then choose a suitable way to move it.

Check the closed result
Look at side gaps, the center overlap and light above the rail during the troublesome time of day. Mark which part needs a fabric or track adjustment; automation should follow a satisfactory physical result, not hide an unsuitable curtain.
Match the opening style
A center-opening curtain may need two drive units, while a single draw has another quantity logic. Confirm the track or rod type and practical motor clearance before choosing a bundle based only on window width.
Choose a quiet-use trial
Ask for a fit-first quote and a demonstration near the expected bedtime or wake-up use. Keep a manual control and a realistic charging plan; a beautiful schedule is less useful if the motor cannot be reached for maintenance.
Before you buy
