Night-shift bedroom: choose a curtain schedule you can interrupt
For rotating shifts, a convenient manual override matters more than a universal sunrise routine. Choose shade control that can follow the resident’s actual rest period, and keep the ability to leave the room dark when a shift changes.

Start with exceptions
Write the shifts that change from week to week. A fixed opening time may work well most days and still be wrong on the day that matters. Put an obvious pause or manual choice ahead of complex scheduling.
Assess the curtain separately
Verify blackout performance, motor fit and charging access as separate decisions. A compatible curtain drive does not improve the fabric, and the control hub needed for a particular platform may be a separate item in the proposal.
Show the weekly pattern
Send HomeTech a simple rest schedule and the current curtain photos. Request a restrained set of controls that the resident can change without rebuilding the whole system or asking another household member to manage every shift.
