Stairway lighting needs control at both ends
For a stairway upgrade, identify usable controls at both ends before adding automatic scenes. Lighting changes should preserve ordinary manual operation and suit the installed fixtures, while the relevant electrical and building requirements remain part of the professional installation review.

Check the current arrangement
Record how many switches control the lights and where they are located. A multi-location circuit is not the same job as replacing a single switch, so the installer needs the actual arrangement before a device set is selected.
Test night-time visibility
Check the full route, including the top and bottom landing. A low-level setting must remain useful for the resident’s actual use; decorative effects should not replace an appropriately reviewed lighting design or make essential manual control harder to find.
Request the complete branch
Ask for suitable multi-location controls and commissioning together. A compatible Pico-based arrangement may be one option, but the exact dimmer, companion controls and wiring must be selected as a supported combination.
