Smart Plug Power-Restore Behavior: A Small Detail Worth Checking
Before automating a lamp or appliance, ask what both the plug and the connected device do after power returns. A useful schedule does not replace a predictable restart routine.

There are two devices involved
The plug can restore a power state while the appliance returns to a different operating mode. Test the whole combination, particularly for equipment with electronic touch controls rather than a simple mechanical switch.
Choose a suitable application
Use automation for a device whose manufacturer allows the intended switching method. Avoid assuming that every appliance is suitable for unattended restart simply because its plug fits the smart adapter.
Write down the desired result
Include normal operation, a power interruption and manual recovery in the commissioning brief. Keep important equipment outside general off scenes unless its power behavior has been specifically agreed and tested.
