A Smart Plug Is Not Chosen by Watts Alone
Select a smart plug for the type of load as well as its rating. A heater, motor and ordinary lamp can make very different demands despite a similar headline power figure.

Read the application limits
Ask whether the exact plug permits the appliance category you intend to use. Resistive-load ratings, motor behavior and starting current are not interchangeable measures of suitability for every electrical device.
Keep safety functions intact
Do not use a smart adapter to defeat an appliance’s required supervision or built-in protection. The connected equipment’s own instructions remain relevant even when remote switching is available in an app.
Make the quote specific
Send the appliance nameplate, intended schedule and installation location with the request. A precise answer about one real load is more useful than a general assurance that the plug handles many household products.
