Shared household entry: compare permission handling before locks
For a shared home, the main buying question is how each person’s access is issued and removed. Compare the exact lock’s supported credential methods and administration alongside door fit, instead of choosing only by the number of advertised opening options.

List household roles
Separate residents, occasional visitors and a trusted backup contact. Define who is allowed to administer the lock and who merely needs entry, so the purchase does not lead to everyone sharing the owner’s app account.
Test a real changeover
Ask how an old credential is revoked and a new one is created on the selected model. Remote functions and any required hub or service should be reviewed explicitly; brand name alone does not define the available workflow.
Request an access-focused quote
Send the number of roles and the door photos. Ask for the lock, accessories, installation and a short permission-handover note, so the household can maintain control after the initial setup person leaves.
Before you buy
- Define the administrator
- Demonstrate credential removal
- Keep backup entry documented
