A familiar model name does not make a cross-border order equivalent
When sourcing for Canada or the United States, compare the actual regional SKU and its documentation. A familiar name on an overseas listing does not establish the correct power, mounting, software region or after-sales arrangement.

Identify the supplied variant
Ask for the label or model identifier and package specification. Compare these with the manufacturer’s regional information, including required accessories. Do not approve an order from a translated marketing title or a generic product photograph alone.
Review the support route
Confirm who handles setup questions, warranty enquiries and replacements for the intended destination. Manufacturer authorization programs, such as Aqara’s reseller process, require their own approval; buying products does not itself grant that commercial status.
Keep country in the enquiry
State Canada or the United States, destination city and intended use when contacting HomeTech. That keeps a sourcing discussion tied to the real market rather than treating two similar-looking listings as interchangeable stock.
Before you buy
- Request label identifiers
- Match destination documentation
- Confirm replacement responsibility
