Choose project spares by disruption, not by equal percentages

A spare is valuable when it helps recover an important function without creating a new compatibility problem. Consider which failures would interrupt access, lighting or a scheduled handover before spreading spare quantities evenly across the equipment list.

Identify the service consequence

A decorative accessory and a shared controller can have very different consequences if unavailable. Review the system architecture and service route. The appropriate spare may be a tested controller or mounting part rather than another visible device.

Plan replacement setup

Having hardware in a cupboard does not establish that it can be swapped immediately. Keep model references, setup instructions and any required backup procedure with the maintenance plan, while storing sensitive configuration material securely.

Ask for a serviceable list

Send HomeTech the functions that matter most and your local response arrangements. Discuss sensible spare categories and replacement support alongside the main order, with quantities chosen for the actual project rather than a universal stocking rule.
