Keypad or Phone-Only Entry for a Shared Front Door?
For a shared door, a visible keypad can make occasional access easier to explain. Phone-based entry works best when every regular user is willing and able to manage the required setup.

Count the occasional users
Think about a visiting grandparent, a dog walker and a guest arriving before you. Their needs differ from those of a resident who carries the same phone every day.
Keep permissions understandable
Choose a method you can explain in one short message without sharing your personal account. Individual credentials make future changes less disruptive than passing around a main login.
Do not forget placement
For an add-on keypad, confirm reach, visibility and the manufacturer’s mounting guidance. A good entry method still feels awkward if the control is hidden behind a screen door.
