Bathroom leak alerts: choose the responder before the gadget
A bathroom water sensor is useful when someone can identify the location and act on the alert. Choose the accessible risk point and contact arrangement alongside the device; automatic detection alone is not a promise that water damage will be prevented.

Separate normal water from a leak
Avoid choosing a routinely wet floor position just because it is convenient. Review the vanity or another appropriate risk point, and check how cleaning, floor slopes and stored items affect the selected location.
Make the notification specific
Name the sensor for the cabinet or fixture rather than a vague upstairs label. Confirm its required hub and alert route, especially if a property manager rather than the occupant is expected to respond.
Request a point-by-point list
Send photographs and ask for one line per proposed sensor location. A clear location list makes a small order easier to maintain and exposes extra devices that do not add meaningful coverage.
Before you buy
