A Retrofit Lock for an Existing Cylinder: Send These Photos First
A retrofit quotation becomes useful when it is based on your actual cylinder and door, not a generic front-door photograph. Show the moving parts and the available inside space.
Photograph the mechanism
Provide straight-on views of the interior thumbturn, cylinder and surrounding handle. Include the manufacturer or model if visible; exterior resemblance does not establish mechanical compatibility between two different locksets.
Include the whole swing
A motor can fit when the door is shut yet collide with a wall or handle when opened. Show the door at its normal opening angle and measure nearby obstructions.
Ask for a fitted package
Request the approved mounting parts, chosen outside entry method and remote-control hardware together. That turns a product suggestion into a configuration you can decide whether to purchase.
