Before adding smart devices, inspect the home network
If devices repeatedly lose their connection, a network review may be a better next purchase than more accessories. Identify the affected rooms and communication types first, because not every smart-home problem is caused by Wi-Fi and not every hub extends it.

Record the failures clearly
Note the device, location and when the problem appears. Separate a wireless-link issue from power being switched off, an expired credential or a cloud-service dependency, so the proposed work addresses the actual failure rather than a vague weak-signal label.
Keep radio roles distinct
Wi-Fi access points, Zigbee hubs and Thread border routers have different roles. Review the selected network path and the home’s physical layout before adding repeaters or another controller that may not address the affected devices at all.
Request a point survey
Send the floor plan, router locations and affected models to HomeTech. Ask for a coverage and controller-placement review before a larger device package, keeping wired backhaul and power requirements visible where they are relevant.
Before you buy
- List affected rooms
- Identify communication types
- Map router and controller positions
