Keep demonstration units separate from saleable stock
A demonstration unit may be paired, configured and repeatedly handled. A customer buying a new device expects to know whether the box is unopened or whether they are choosing an explicitly described display unit.

Create two inventories
List demonstration models with their assigned location and reset procedure. List saleable stock by exact regional SKU and package contents. This keeps a busy employee from borrowing a needed hub from a customer’s starter package.
Account for accessories
Keep sample mounting hardware, keys and instructions with their corresponding display. If a display unit is later offered for sale, its condition, included accessories and account-reset status need their own clear description before the customer agrees.
Plan the opening order
Ask HomeTech to discuss the demonstration list separately from your first replenishable assortment. The store can then consider the experience it wants to show and the products it intends to supply without mixing the two budgets.
